HANDY FACT SHEET INSOMNIA & SLEEP HYGIENE

Insomnia is a sleep disorder that affects millions of people worldwide. It can make it difficult to fall asleep, cause frequent awakenings during the night, or leave you feeling unrefreshed in the morning. As a result, individuals often experience fatigue, irritability, and difficulty concentrating during the day. Chronic insomnia can also increase the risk of long-term health problems, including cardiovascular issues, depression, and a weakened immune system.

POST-DIAGNOSIS ADVICE FOR PEOPLE DIAGNOSED AS AUTISTIC

Being diagnosed as autistic can feel like a significant turning point. It may bring relief, confusion, or a mix of emotions. It’s important to remember that this diagnosis is just one part of who you are and does not define your potential. Gaining an understanding of autism and knowing where to find appropriate support can help you make informed choices and embrace your individual strengths.

ADHD MEDICATION FOR ADULTS

ADHD medication in adults is prescribed as part of a structured treatment plan to improve attention regulation, impulse control, emotional stability, and executive functioning. Pharmacological treatment aims to reduce symptom severity, functional impairment, and associated risks such as academic failure, occupational difficulties, emotional dysregulation, and accidental injury. While medication supports neurochemical regulation, it does not correct underlying neurodevelopmental differences, meaning symptoms may persist to varying degrees.
